River Walkway Park
This park consists of 15 acres located on the Banks of the Wabash River.
The Miami's Fort playground at this park was community built in 2000. The shelters, restrooms and all other recreational sites were built afterward with a grant from the DNR. The entire park is ADA accessible. There are also two decks overlooking the scenic Wabash River.
Amenities:
- Fitness Trail: Parallel eight foot wide paved walkway along the Wabash River from the Nickel Plate Trail to Broadway. This Fitness Trail is 1.7 miles one way.
- Play Fields: Open green spaces
- Parking: Two parking lots
- Restrooms: One, centrally located
- Picnic Tables: Yes
- Playgrounds: One 120' X 120' wood playground "Miami's Fort"
- All-inclusive playground: wheelchair accessible, padded rubber ground
- Pickleball Courts: four fenced-in pickleball courts located west of shelter of 9.
Shelters (may be reserved): Two shelters and one gazebo
*Shelter 9 is west of Miami's Fort (between Miami's Fort and Pickleball Courts)
*Shelter 10 is nearest the large parking lot and has great access to the restrooms.
Shelter 9
Rents for $20/day. Along Canal Street at the Riverwalk Parkway. This shelter is west of Miami's Fort (between the play area and Pickleball Courts). It is equipped with electric, a grill and lights. Restrooms & playground onsite. Near the new Peru Skate Park.
Shelter 10
Rents for $20/day. Along Canal Street at the Riverwalk Parkway. This shelter is east of Miami's Fort (near the large parking lot). It is equipped with electric, a grill and lights. Restrooms & playground onsite.
Additional Amenities
Miami's Fort, located between Shelter 9 & 10. Restrooms located to the east of the playground. Ample parking.
Riverwalk outlook overlooking the Wabash River. One of four outlooks that look out over the Wabash River along the walkway.
All-inclusive playground, wheelchair accessible. Ground around playground is rubber padded. Installed in 2020.
