Maconaquah Park

Maconaquah Park is 186 acres located between Strawtown Pike and Park Drive.

The park was opened in 1927 and includes a beautiful scenic drive,  two 18 hole Disc Golf course, and an 18 Hole Golf Course. The entire park is ADA accessible.

• Basketball Goals: Two courts w/four goals
• Play Fields: Open green spaces
• Parking: Ample parking available all around park
• Restrooms: Four, centrally located
• Picnic Tables: Located in all shelters and throughout the park
• Playgrounds: Three, located throughout the park
• Disc Golf Course; 18 hole course throughout the park, starts at shelter 8

Shelters (may be reserved): Six, all with electric outlets and two with lights
*Shelters 3 & 5 (top of the hill near the golf course) -near horse shoe pits & playground equipment.
*Shelter 4 (near old South Peru School) -near playground equipment.
*Shelters 1E/W & 2 (lower park off Strawtown Pike) -near playground equipment & basketball courts
*Shelter 8 (off Park Drive near Frisbee Golf parking-top of hill) -*not near playground equipment

Shelter 1 East & West

Rentable for $30/day. Largest shelter. Maconaquah Park-lower park area accessible from Strawtown Pike. Equipped with electric, a grill and lights. Restrooms and playground onsite.

Shelter 2

Rents for $20/day. Maconaquah Park-lower park area accessible from Strawtown Pike. You can NOT drive to this shelter. The road has been gated to prevent driving so close to the playground. Equipped with electric, a grill and lights. Restrooms and playground onsite.

Shelter 3

Rents for $20/day. Maconaquah Park-upper park near golf course on right as you enter that drive. Equipped with electric and a grill. Restrooms & playground onsite.

Shelter 4

Rents for $20/day. Maconaquah Park off Park Drive. Sits just down the hill from South Peru School and overlooks the amphitheater. Equipped with electric and lights. Restrooms across parking lot by concession stand.

Shelter 5

Rents for $20/day. Maconaquah Park-upper park near golf course on right as you enter that drive. Equipped with electric and a grill. Restroom & playground are onsite. Horseshoe pits onsite.

Shelter 8

Rents for $20/day. In Maconaquah Park on Park Drive, just past the Parks Department Building on left. This shelter is at the top of the hill from the parking lot. Near the old Miller Pool, now the Animal Control Facility. It is equipped with electric and a round fire pit within the shelter. Restrooms onsite. No playground at this location.

Additional Amenities 

Disc Golf Course throughout Maconaquah Park. 18 holes. Rough terrain, wear hiking shoes or have good footwear.

Shilling Park

Shilling Park is 1/4 acre located on the corner of West Canal Street and Lafayette Street.

This park consists of one fenced in basketball court with two goals.

The hours are one hour before dawn and one hour after dusk and their are no facilities.

This park was cleaned and repaired by the 2003/2004 Youth Leadership Miami County Group.

River Walkway Park

This park consists of 15 acres located on the Banks of the Wabash River.

The Miami's Fort playground at this park was community built in 2000. The shelters, restrooms and all other recreational sites were built afterward with a grant from the DNR. The entire park is ADA accessible. There are also two decks overlooking the scenic Wabash River.

Amenities:

• Fitness Trail: Parallel eight foot wide paved walkway along the Wabash River from the Nickel Plate Trail to Broadway. This Fitness Trail is 1.7 miles one way.
• Play Fields: Open green spaces
• Parking: Two parking lots
• Restrooms: One, centrally located
• Picnic Tables: Yes
• Playgrounds: One 120' X 120' wood playground "Miami's Fort"
• All-inclusive playground: wheelchair accessible, padded rubber ground
• Pickleball Courts: four fenced-in pickleball courts located west of shelter of 9.

Shelters (may be reserved): Two shelters and one gazebo
*Shelter 9 is west of Miami's Fort (between Miami's Fort and Pickleball Courts)
*Shelter 10 is nearest the large parking lot and has great access to the restrooms.

Shelter 9

Rents for $20/day.  Along Canal Street at the Riverwalk Parkway. This shelter is west of Miami's Fort (between the play area and Pickleball Courts). It is equipped with electric, a grill and lights. Restrooms & playground onsite. Near the new Peru Skate Park.

Shelter 10

Rents for $20/day. Along Canal Street at the Riverwalk Parkway. This shelter is east of Miami's Fort (near the large parking lot). It is equipped with electric, a grill and lights. Restrooms & playground onsite. 

Additional Amenities

Miami's Fort, located between Shelter 9 & 10. Restrooms located to the east of the playground. Ample parking.

Riverwalk outlook overlooking the Wabash River. One of four outlooks that look out over the Wabash River along the walkway.

All-inclusive playground, wheelchair accessible. Ground around playground is rubber padded. Installed in 2020.

West City Park

West City Park consists of 33 acres in between Park Avenue and West Canal Street.

There is a walking trail along the Wabash River with two overlook decks.

This park opened in 1918 and is primarily used by the Youth Baseball/Softball Programs.

• Baseball Fields: Five Little League Baseball Fields
• Softball Fields: Five Girl's Softball Fields
• Play Fields: Open green spaces
• Parking: Ample Parking, six handicap parking spaces
• Restrooms: Three, centrally located

Shelters (may be reserved): Two
Picnic Tables: Located in shelters and throughout the park
Playgrounds: Two
Hours: One hour before dawn and one hour after dusk, unless games are scheduled.

Shelter 7

Rents for $20/day. West City Park by girl's softball field. Equipped with electric and lights and a grill. Restrooms & playground onsite.

Shelter 11

Rents for $20/day. At West City Park near the Little League Field. No electric at this shelter. Restrooms & playground onsite. 

Peru Skate Park

The Peru Skate Park was opened in August of 2014.

Open every day during normal park hours.

Davis Park

Amenities:

• Basketball Court
• Picnic Tables: Located in shelter
• Playground

Shelters (may be reserved): One; with grill, no electric.

Rents for $20/day. Located at the corner of Main and Water Street. Street parking. Equipped with grill. There are no restrooms. Playground equipment installed in 2016. Basketball court resurfaced in 2021.
